Wednesday Tractor

Never came across these tractors until I got involved with other collectors in the 1990's, but I did learn to plough with a Lister-Cockshutt two furrow plough behind a Series 1 Field Marshall.

i got 1 low hour last year built 30 complete nice but not running 1 completer 30 needs work and 2 partial 30's

I liked the colors of them look pretty. Now I remember a guy at one of my family friends house they were talking about the pulling guys liking those Cockshutt transmissions/rearends for pulling they would turn them over to use them. I'm just a little kid about 7or8 listening to this and thinking it would make them pretty hard to use like that with the shift lever on the bottom, turned over. Just a kids thinking.

My Uncle Ed, had a Gambles 30 Farmcrest ,it wasn't a bad tractor,i did like the Live power take off!!!

And.....it would be strange to see a "puller" pulling backwards!

They're not all that uncommon around here, especially the 500 series. There was a dealer in the next town north of me.

Im working on a Cockshutt 50 in my garage right now. Have a nicely restored 40 and picking up another 40 soon to do some work on. Great good looking tractors. Thanks for the pictures.
