weed wacker

My old Muck-a-Luck weed eater has been dying a slow death for a couple of years. Tried to start the thing yesterday and about 25 pulls later, my crap shoulders were telling me I was about ten pulls to far into this process. I drop-kicked the thing into the junk pile. Never liked it that well anyway. Bought the cheapest gas powered sucker Wally World had on the shelf. It lighter, handles ten times better and is so simple to change attachments it's incredible compared to the old tecnology. Very simple to change strings on the trimmer. For what I paid for it, if it lasts two years, it's paid for itself.

Anybody ever tried the cultivator attachments on these weed wackers (Murry)? Do they work okay, or do they beat your arms and shoulders up? Less or more work than using a hand cultivator? Thanks in adavance for any opinions you may have.

Fedex delivered a poulan pro yesterday. IT worked great to hill potatoes. I wish i could find my shoulder strap that would make it a lot easier. IT was a work out but easier than using a hoe. i'm happy

I've got the Stihl model, and the tiller works great, much less effort than a hoe. But you can't use it to till new ground, just to cultivate. Walk forward, and it just takes the weeds out; walk backward, and it tills about 3 inches deep, but is a lot more work.

I will only have a 4 cycle straight shaft, husky varnie with a honda engine. Isn't light, isn't cheap, it has the more power than a 2 stroke. It starts very easy and for me that's very important. It's quiet, It's very easy to remove the head and restring. The head doesn't spin until you rev it up.

It will last me a life time. 10 years so far.

I have one and like the others say it beats a hoe all to heck. I ended up buying one of those small tillers on wheels though and it is easier to use though. Since I got that I haven't used the tiller attachment at all.

I'm building a set of training wheels for the tiller/scratcher thingy I bought with my stihl kombi unit. It's dad's idea, not mine....I think it's a good idea though. Maybe it'll work with the paddle sweeper thingy too.
