need quick answer please, i need to weld on a harrow i have, do i need to unhook it from tractor to weld, will it hurt electic system on tractor if i weld hooked up?

I have yet to have welding on a machine hurt any thing but that said it is always a good idea to unhook the battery just in case you get unlucky which is also something I do not do often and as I said have yet to have a problem but some say it can happen

Hook the ground as close to where you are welding and it wont cause any problems. That being said. If your tractor has a computer then you MUST unhook the battery cables. Then weld away. Good luck friend.

As long as you hook the ground cable close to where you are welding its going to be alright. Now if you hook the ground cable on the front of the tractor and then weld on the harrow it is going to send a jolt through it and maybe do something, but if you are welding on the harrow, ground close to where you are welding, its not going to do anything to the tractor.
Welding on the tractor it might be a good idea to unhook the battery.

diyyo what the others said.

anything with an alt.. I usually pull the hot cable.. if it has a genny.. I let her go and put the ground clamp close to the work.
