Western Mule Bumper Crane

I was offered one of these fairly cheap, the catch is that the complete winch assembly/ controller setup is missing. Bumper, boom, pulleys etc are all there. Haven't found a good picture of the missing parts, was wondering if an inexpensive alternative like a HF winch could be adapted, or if the original is too specific? I know anything can be made to work on anything, but the stock setup looks to be completely enclosed in the bumper

Look at KFI Products winches. They come with a very good quality wiring, contacter and switches. Nearly everyone here runs them on their ATV/UTVs from 2000- 4500 lbs. In fact I have three of them on our rides. I think that they are a better winch than Warn for they have all metal gears and cams.

To be honest. I don't think I would trust a HF winch on anything.

First thing I did was check the website. Doesn't show much about the actual power unit, I would imagine to get one from them would be $$$, depending on how specialized it is. Was looking for someone with actual experience with one

Tells you about all you need to know. You can even download the manual for the winch. I just randomly choose a 4500lb standard for example. $376 for the complete unit with a roller fairlead.
