Western special 656

Looked at one of these today. Never knew there was a western special.

I've heard of them - not sure how they are different. We had an 856 Wheatland - no PTO or three point. It was just for tillage in wheat our country. They also made a "custom" but I don't know the particulars on it.

The wheatland also came with rounded fenders (like the old W series) and two headlights in the top corners of the grill. I wouldn't want to have to try to find that grill now. I never remember running Big Red with the lights on but I bet those old sealed beams didn't light up the field like my tractors now.

The western 656s that I have seen have stamped steel rear rims rather that cast center rear wheels. --Lee
