Whar tractor is this???

I believe it is an LA but has different hood features than an LA, styled L? Doesn't have a name plate or serial number. Just looking for the model. I want to restore it.

Not sure if the back of the hood is cut off,or if it's just missing the toolbox section of it.Didn't they have a big round hole in that part to throw your tools in? Most important part missing is the driveshaft cover. The round part of the driveshaft might let your pants just rub on it,but the U-joint yokes won't.I can't tell if that tractor has the JD or the Hercules engine in it.If that tractor was mine the restoration would go no further than it sits.I will put no time into a stem wind tractor.Flywheel start,OK,no problem, but no hand crank tractors.I was the young guy at the JD dealer when I was 21.So,I had to crank all the stem winders for the old guys. They were around 40 back then.I developed a knot in my right forearm from doing it,and today at 70 it is still there and starting to give me trouble.

Keith, those wheels are LA. Herc engine was used in early L's There was a large hole to get to starter and sediment bowl. Not really a tool box That was generally an add on. Also rear end of pipe frame solid is LA and open/hollow is L. Now you can have a mix match of parts.
