Found this in a tool box/chest that I got from a widow when she was selling her house, anyone have any idea what it is or used for ?, just curious, Thanks

Looks like a knurl stamp or number stamp by the look of the square end.

Possibly some sort of interchangeable ''jaw'' for a clamp or holding fixture.

It should have a handle to go with it. I also think it is a knurl/checkering tool bit. It would help to see the textured end view. Jim

Hmmm, its either

1) a poorly made dreidel,

2) a mini waffle maker

3) or a stamp to crimp down those little lead disks with the braided copper wires running through them that they put on stuff like residential electric meters or valves to ''seal'' them from unauthorized tampering (??).
