what is the best implement to use

I have a large property that was used as a corn field for years. over the past 2 years it was cut with a brushhog and is now all grown in with grass. the ground is quite hard now and I have a backblade for the tractor. I wanted to cut a track in the property for a 4wheeler/dirtbike track, removing or tilling all the grass/weeds away and making it more like a dirt road. would I want to use a disc for this job or a plow type impliment, I was looking at the 6 ft disc at the tractor supply company. the propery slopes upward from front to back. a pass or 2 with a disc gang should till the grass up enough to clean it by pulling your back blade at a angel, that will deposit the sod to the side of the trail, you will probably need to add weight to both the disc to make it cut, as well as the blade to make it bite instead of just skip across the top of the ground

Although, if your ground is [i:54ff304acc]really[/i:54ff304acc] hard, the disc will most likely just roll over the top. A box blade with ripper teeth might be needed to break it up in that case.

I'd do the best you can with what you have, and then ride the track alot on the bikes or 4 wheelers and it should be fine.

Its not a must by ny means, but things will go much easier if you spray the path you want to make with round-up first and let it sit a week or two.

Yes, glyphsate is very enviro friendly(gone in 7 days) and kills everything. I'd just spray and then drive it.
