Can someone tell me what this valve is for and how to make the proper adjustments to it. I cannot find any information in my service manual on it. I have just replaced the lift cylinder and piston, and want to be sure I have made all the proper adjustments. Thanks

IT is a pressure control valve . the book will go over the adjustment, it"s that section on you quadrant that says "pressure control" the book spells it out, got to have a gauge, there?s a measurement before the instillation of the lift cover and a final adj, with a screwdriver through the hole on the standpipe cap. different pressures for different machines, but the adj is all the same..

Hi,
Your hydraulic system will not function properly if at all due to the fact that you have the two knurled-head adjusting screws missing. You may have not refitted them yet. It appears that the spring restrainer clip is missing on for one of the screws and you have an ordinary screw in place. To set the system and PC correctly you will need to have both screws and prevent them from turning once set.

Thanks for the information. Davidp, good observation, this tractor has been worked on many times over the years and I am not sure what is supposed to be there. I disassembled the valve assemly and found the diaphragm is very stiff and cracked and the orings in the pc valve are also hard. I am going to order the proper adjusting screws and diaphragm. Can someone tell me if this is covered in the MF-27 I&T manual, the manual I have is an early version before the pressure control system was added. Thanks Tracy
