What is this?

I have wondered for a long time what this is. I found it in a dump area on an old farm. It is about 3' wide and 2' high made of
sturdy metal about 1/4" thick. It is one of a number of similar pieces, some smaller, some slightly larger. The top loop swivels.
Can anyone help me?

Frame for a horse drawn dirt slip. You are missing the scoop portion of it.

It looks like part of a slip scoop. Darned if I know why you have more than one; maybe someone converted them to 3 point hitch?

Yep, my mom had pictures of her dad digging the basement of a house with one,and 1 horse on the front.
