Friend of mine has a '40' and was wondering what model 2 bottom (moldboard) plow was originally marketed for it? Any help would be appreciated.

Frank, The 412 plow is used with the 40.

That looks like my plow except I have a long land slide and no tail wheel. Am I supposed to have a tail wheel?

I still have the "two bottom" Disc breakers that came with the 40t dad bought in 1954. I wonder if they may be a little unique. Probably don't work as well as the bottoms but they sure would cut a root and keep going in their day.

If you take a look at the parts manual, they actually call that tail wheel a "rolling landside". I've seen several single and two bottom plows that use an extended landside instead of a tail wheel.

I'd say it might be a bit on the rare side. I have a two disk Dearborn sick plow that I use in my wood lot. It really stirs things up and cuts small growth well without cloggon up.
