Before someone says it: I know the green thing is a ruler. This new part came from liquidation of a golf course. Was on a shelf with mower parts, so it is probably for a riding mower. Any help is appreciated.

Looks like the other end of the sq tube has a threaded nut or boss welded to it?

If yes, maybe for a hand knob. So I am gonna say it is an engagement lever that pivots on a rod running cross-ways under the seat of a fairways mower.
There might be other levers on the same pivot. Maybe for the deck pto or the differential lock or other things.

It is very much like a part on a Ferris mower that links the front of the deck up to the frame.
