what to do about 1020 starter

Starter used to grind against the fly wheel. Than I had the starter rebuilt, and its been going real nice for months, than today again it made a grinding sound when I went to start it. Is this normal once in awhile or is there something I can do to fix it? When I had the starter out. The there wasn't any missing teeth. A little worn on the starter side but not real bad. Any ideas?
