Hey Tom, I was in Charleston SC today looking at a job and ran across this machine for sale and naturally being a Case enthusiest I stopped andchecked it out. The owner approached me and said "that's an antique It's a 1966 222 Case". Well I could tell from the seat and colors alone that it was newer than my 69 442, but he wasvery adament that it is a 66. I took down the serial number and gave it to you.
He actually has this listed on craigs list in charleston with trailer for 2500.00 search "1966 Case" and there is a picture. Thanks again, Ed

First off, Case did not make a 222 model until 1969. Power White and Power Red paint wasn't used in combination on Case GT's until 1977. Value of his tractor if it was on e-Bay would be $500.00 on average and it's sitting on a $500.00 trailer. Good luck to him in coming anywhere close to the $2500.00 asking price. He'll need a total moron to pay that much, especially when he's adamant that what he's selling is 43 years old.

Get this, I saw the tractor for sale then he told me had it on craigs list. When I asked him how much he wanted he told me 850.00 but would take 600.00, I was sort of fearing for my life because the area that it was in was how you say "unsavory" so I said... I'll call you when I come back to town, he then replied "how much cash you got... we'll load it up on your truck right now." at this point I've got my truck in reverse and looking for a way out, I was driving a suburban and the Case wasn't on a trailer as in the picture which I later saw when I got home and looked it up. Need less to say I think it is his tractor he just doesn't have a clue of what he's got and your right 400 or 500 would be a good deal if ya don't get shot or robbed picking it up. Ed

That's the sort of deal that you want to take place in the parking lot across the street from the local cop shop. Even then, you arrange for six of your biggest buddies to arrive in separate vehicles and sit in them quietly until the transaction is in full swing.

If nothing untoward happens, then they need not show themselves but if the guy tries to pull something, then ample back-up is a good thing.
