I have a 1500d and there is a small container that is mounted above and between the injectors, looks about 2oz.

I have been told it is for the glow plug.

holds fuel for the thermal start. some have a lid and you add fuel, some have a line that runs from the fuel tank and you don't have to add fuel to that container. either way it works great.
