Wheel clamps

on a five bump wheel what side of the wheel clamps goes inside ? long or short. both on mine are short side in, but doesn't look right. Thanks for any help.

ell knew they were wrong, socket would not fit right, previous owner had both wheels off, put clamps on backwards, was a pia to get lug nut off.
