Hello all,
I had my rear wheels off the H sanblasted and was wondering about rust protection on the surface area where they contact with the axle and the clamp. I sandblasted and primed the clamps but coated the axle contact surface and key with linseed oil. Both Axles were also coated in linseed oil after I cleaned them up. I plan to fully mount the rear wheels and paint them as mounted. Everything will be taped off obviously but I was curious if I should primer inside of the wheels or just coat them in linseed oil. Just don't want rust to show back up. So far I've had sandblasted parts sitting in my shop for about a year and have yet for rust to come back. Love a good insulated shop. Any input is appreciated.
