wheel rake questions

I just got a case wrx 301. used it for the first time and the wheels are set real low they bend the tines over a lot. I used the hydraulics to hold it up some to finish raking but of course that is not real even. the springs are very strong and hardly flex at all with the weight of the wheel. there are 2 holes in the arm where the spring can be attached. I am guessing the hole closer to the pivot will cause the spring to stretch more. is that what this second hole on the bar is for. it has no where on it seems it has never been set that way.
second question how do the hydraulics fold the rake out evenly there must be something that splits the hydraulic flow. after I used it I noticed when folded in one side cylinder is not fully in by a few inches and the other one is. will this continue to get worse with use or will it correct itself and even out.

I Would think that the farther the hole the more weight it would pull up on since the spring would be stretched more. Yet it might be hard on springs over time. Those teeth are supposed to be able to spring sideways as you rake some . My Hesston will spring 2-3 inches raking with my Hesston front fold rake and a bit more on my Gehl double rake. The Gehl is a 3pt rake and is a bit heavier on the teeth than my Hesston front fold. As for the folding it probably has air in yet if it is new and will work out over a short time. Other wise it might have something bent causing the one side to hold out some. Mine folds pretty much evenly when I fold and unfold it till it comes to the ramp for the sides to set on when folded. Then one will stop till the other gets there and then one or both jump up there. Mine has adjustable stops for the sides to stop at when unfolding so you can set it to just open so wide. It will rake 3 9 foot swaths at once if I want to. I usually set it for 2swaths since it will dry faster as just a double here. IF I try to rake with them not at the stops it will work to one side as I travel across the field then I have to adjust it or reset the stops for it. I can also hold one side in to rake singles one at a time with it. I use it that way a lot so I can open a field by leaving the second swath right on the divide between the first and second so I don't have a double windrow to dry in first cutting. And widen the rake as I rake till the third round will be wide open to my stop.

Wheel height is controlled by the silver pipe that all the springs attach to. The hydraulic cylinder slides the pipe back and forth, raising and lowering the wheels. If you are having issues lowering it to a consistent height, get some stop collars for the cylinders.

Yes, there is something that splits the hydraulic flow. It's called a "tee," a simple pipe fitting with one in hole and two out holes. There's nothing "smart" making sure both wings are in or out the correct amount. The way to even out the cylinders is to keep holding the lever until both cylinders are fully retracted. Once one has bottomed out, the other cylinder should continue to retract until it also bottoms out.
