It's not on my N, but I noticed my other tractor has water for ballast in the rear tires and on humid days there is a condensation line on the tire from the water line down. What do you guys use to stop that?

ust like you favorite can of cold beverage! Keep it at room temperature ALL the time & it won't sweat.

That's the "built in gauge". Lets you know if they're full enough.
Nothing I've been able to do about it here except empty them.
As long as they don't freeze, it shouldn't hurt anything.

"I never paid any attention to mine sweating till they froze solid..."

I'm glad they didn't burst like a water bottle in the freezer.
I think I remember you saying you had the dealer install antifreeze
of some sort in them, they just did not use quite enough of it.
At least not for the weather you got. That could have been pricey!

Royse,
They wouldn't burst like a water
bottle.
Water expands about 9% when it freezes
and the rubber would expand far more
than that.
I had a pair of tires that were loaded
once. I assumed it was CaCl in them.
That winter I needed to use the loader
for a scaffold so I brought it out of
the shed.
One side must gave been straight water
cause it was froze solid. The other
side wasn't. You could sure tell.
I just used it in the yard a bit at
real slow speed and got by but I'm sure
had I driven it far - or fast, it would
have wrecked the tire.

I was just measuring in that photo.
When I actually started working I made sure I put my reflective yellow work vest on so everything was kosher. :)

(quoted from post at 07:40:58 02/17/18) OSHA approved right there!

I once extended my 24 foot extension ladder in order to reach the peak of my shop by putting it in the bucket of my tractor.

My brother tied a 10-foot ladder to the end of a 20-foot extension ladder AND stood it in the bed of a chevy LUV to reach the peak of a roof.

You can see that the step ladder in the first picture is not going anywhere but it hurts to just look at the second picture.

That gives me the creeps.
But I used to do things like that.
Till I broke my leg 2 1/2 years ago.
Now I'm skeert.
I have to scaffold up to change a light fixture
in the foyer of a big fancy house tomorrow.
Light weighs about 70 lbs - 16' up.
NOT looking forward to it.

Even the 'lil guys sweat!

Fair point Lawson. She already thinks I spend too much time in the shop. I do have a keresene heater in case I get in too much trouble.

Heated garage Huh, you guys are just friggin mean and dangerous !

My 2,000 sq ft shop is heated. I keep it at 50 degrees, then bump it up to 60 when I go in, unless I am going to paint. Propane is very high here but I use only 200 gal. per year.
