I have a Case IH 1420 combine with 1/4 inch bar stock concaves.
They key bars seem to be getting a little rounded on the threshing edge. I combine corn and soybeans with this machine. Used it last fall and it seemed to thresh ok.
I am wondering at one point it is necessary to replace concaves. Obviously, when they are "worn". But I am curious what the criteria for "worn" actually means. As opposed to "normal" wear. Any advice on this out there from any combine experts? Just want to know before I invest in a new set. Thanks!
