hat is NOT an argument, just a statement of what I personally have seen start a house fire.
To your subject, however, there are 2 to 3 thermostatic/limit switches that control the electric heating element after the motor switch connects, motor running or failed motor switch.
 
There is one thermal limit that is supposed to shut off the
heat thats a one time trip no reset. There is also a high
limit that will cycle off and on. I have seen them fail to
work properly. I did this work for over 40 years so I know
what Im talking about. If you want to encourage
someone to try something that may result in a loss of a
house or something worse then thats on you! Tom in Mn.
 
WOW! What a mistake. Non union,trained specialist repaired this dryer! Result:
