White 2-135 PTO

I was mowing hay with no problems. Stopped the PTO to leave the field. When i went to restart the PTO to clean up a spot i missed the PTO lever would not stay engaged. It met resitance and returns to the off/brake position. If you hold it forward the PTO start to turn slightly but thats it.. Any suggestions??

could have broken the snapring that holds the clutch drum in place,allowing the drum to move off of the orings causing loss of pressure to pack.only way to fix is to pull pto unit.

Could be a problem with the valve too,..i would look at that first.
