White 5542 combine setting

Hello everyone! I have a White 5542 combine but don"t know how to set it up for oats. I have to thresh 15 acres for my brother in law in the next 2 weeks. Can anyone tell me how to set the sieves, fan speed, fan shields etc? I have only threshed wheat & canola but never done oats. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've never run wheat (or canola), but I would think the settings for oats would be similar to wheat, except you'd need less wind. Maybe a -bit- tighter setting on the sieves.

On my Gleaner, cylinder speed, chaffer and sieve settings are the same for wheat and oats. Wind setting for oats is about half that of wheat, since oats are almost half as heavy. I imagine the White setup would be similar.

I have operation manual for a 8600 White and lists the following adjustments for oats:
Cylinder speed -930 rpm
Concave - 5/16-1/2 inch
Fan speed - 550rpm
Chaffer fins - 2/3 open
Sieve - 1/3 open
These are start points and crop condition may require slight changes.
