Why did Sears do that ?

I was looking to replace a Craftsman stubby screwdriver that had a wide blade and regular size handle. This was very useful when working on any 4020 gas carb. Luckliy I still have one. But this type of screwdriver is almost non-existant in most common hardware stores. I do not know why Sears quit making this one.

Home made would be an option. Maybe cut down a long-handled one. I suppose if they don"t sell enough, they quit making them. Bean counters!

Bingo.

Business entities exist only to make money for the owners.

Business entities that do not do so cease to exits.

Sears did not quit making them. You can find them in every large set of screwdrivers they make and they can be bought individualy.

BTW, you say "common hardware stores" then complain that SEARS isn't making them?

Probably if you actually looked in a SEARS, you might actually find them hanging there.

After reading some posts it appears Sears still does make that screwdriver but the two Sears Stores I went to did not have that in a set or individually. The one Store did carry that in the past.I have noticed that the one store does not carry a particular item on a consistent basis though.
