Hi , got an interesting photo of a friend of mine who went to Texas to do some combining.

one farmer had this sprayer sitting in his yard wich was propelled by a Ford tractor.

is it a 901 ?

Looks like maybe the 2000 series .

The man who bought the power steering system off of the 971 I parted out has that same rig. It is a '63 or '64 2000/4000 utility tractor but it has the row crop steering box that only has a pitman arm and drag link on the right side. In this photo you can see the tie rod connecting the right spindle to the left.

You know.. i never thought about it.. but I bet the 9xx/7xx steering boxes might make a good fit on a 6xx/8xx tractor that had a 1-arm loader that are having steering arm clearance problems on the lft side... would have tot do the front cross shaft for the pittman arms.. but then.. lots of tractors do that.

hmm...

My 850 had sucha clearance problem... still never figured out why, other than a repalcement sector arm... I ende dup building an occset spacer from my sector armto tie rod end/ draglink on that side to make up about 2" of room I wanted to have.

At one time there was a company at Worthington, Mn. that built sprayers something like that. Most were in the 8N era. Solderhome[sp] I think was the name. jps

I still have the steering box off the 971 if you want to try it.

I may just have to put some measurements down on paper from my 951 and compair them to my 8xx and 6xx and see if there are any different dimensions on that steeirng box other than the lack of a left sector.
