Winco Generator Fan

I was given an old Winco generator that needs a new fan. From the damage to the cover it looks like it tipped over causing the blades to bend and break off. Due to it's age the parts are apparently no longer available. The label is all but gone but it looks like in the model section it says "P4B". The engine runs well and the electrical output is good. Does anyone know off a source for the part or a fan blade that can be substituted for the old one. The diameter is 7 1/4' and the center hole is 5/16".

One fellow suggested going to the Winco site for the documents. I did that. One fellow suggested Grainger. I looked through Grainger and couldn't find anything that would work and that was reasonable priced. It was free so I don't really want to dump a ton in something that may crash due to some unknown issue. It has an old Model 23 9 HP Briggs and Stratton on it that was made in 1960. From the Winco site it is either a P4BS-3E/B or a P4BH-3E/D. The fan in it looks more like the fan in the IP4BH-3M/E. Maybe already replaced at one time? In the archives some fellow put on a military surplus fan on one and it worked fine. He didn't say what the fan came from or what it looked like. I guess any fan would do as long as it fit and pushed enough air to cool the windings properly. This is all new territory for me.
Thanks

The hydro transmission fans on two of my Wheel Horses have a plastic fan about that size held on with a 5/16 bolt. I can stick a tape measure in there tomorrow but I don't remember how it's keyed on to the shaft. I've seen them on eBay new and used.

Hello Go4 Broke,

Do a search 7 1/4 " 5 blade fan. I found one that was 7" CW 1/4" HUB easy enough to drill out to 5/16

Digi-Key has some fans like that too, we bought one last year for our crawl space exhaust. The screw holes lined up and the electrical connector plugged on!

The fan part number is 55101. Appears to be cast iron. I would use caution choosing an alternate fan. A fan spinning at around 3600 rpm for hours at a time needs to be strong enough and supply enough CFM of air to keep the generator head cool.

Excellent points. Unfortunately the 55101 fan is no longer available unless I get lucky enough to catch one on fleabay. The fan
doesn't appear to be cast iron but it is steel that's for sure. I have had the same reservations about aluminum and plastic
blades fracturing at 3600 RPM. The only other alternative that 47fivewindow mentioned was a small axial fan. I was thinking about
using one of those mounted to the cover to blow air through the generator. It could be powered off the generator as it ran. There
is already a 3 1/2" hole in the end of the cover. In the event that I go that way I'll need to determine the CFM to properly cool
the generator head. Thanks.
