windows 7 activation key

a novice asking for help, I need a activation key to start windows 7 in lenova laptop. can I borrow one or is that possible to so any advice??

Have to have the key for that particular windows file, they got smart and each windows build has it's own unique key

The key MIGHT be printed on the outside of the laptop, or on the envelope that held the software...if you have it.

is there a sticker on the bottom of the laptop? there should be and it should say windows 7 and have the numbers. You should be able to buy a copy of windows 7 from tigerdirect.com but it will cost around $100.

If the laptop had a valid Windows 7 installation when new there is usually a sticker with the key on the bottom of the laptop. If not you will probably have to buy a key.

I've bought a couple of activation stickers off ebay. Cost maybe $20 and always worked without a problem. Make sure you get the correct license for either 32bit or 64bit, whichever is installed on the laptop.

Borrowing is called stealing, should be a sticker on laptop, or in original disk set.

Unless you must use some windows-only program, recommend Linux Mint instead. Free for anyone to use, distribute, modify, etc. I call it Windows for Libertarians.

Actually it only has to be for the correct version, Home, Pro etc. A 64biit key will activate a 32bit installation as long as it is for the same version. You can use any install disk as long as it's for the same version, again Home, Pro etc. This is also true on Windows 10.

I am a Kubuntu fan myself. Think of it as Ubuntu only better.

I would load Linux especially on a Lenovo laptop since they are known for their root kits and spy ware they install from the factory. Not to mention it just works these days.

My house is Windows free and I have never looked back.
