Winterizing a skid loader.

I'm in northern Wisconsin and have a Case 1835b skid loader with the 188d diesel. Around November it'll go into storage until May (stored at our cabin).

What do you put in the fuel prior to a long, cold sit?
Besides check the cold level of the antifreeze, what should I do to winterize this thing?

If you're sure you will not need to run it until spring, I would add anti bacterial agent to your diesel fuel. The problem is rampant here in central MN. I just helped a neighbor clean out the algae in a tank, the tractor hadn't been run since 2015, so it sat only a year. Tank wouldn't flow, the water trap was green gunk, the first filter, a bit like my Racine 400 was a cleanable sintered element that was plugged solid. Lot's of monkeying around, at least a gallon of acetone used up (the only solvent for it I've ever found) cleaning things. Prevention will save a lot of potential grief. Be sure you run it long enough to get the additive into the injection pump. If you even think you're going to run it this winter get the fuel diluted now with 50% #1 and mixed up thru the pump. My thoughts. Also have the tank full, I'm not sure if that's got a plastic tank or not. Others will add more I'm sure. There is no definitive answer, just a lot of this works, and I should of done this type of stuff.

Thank you for the response. I added the Staybil for Diesel... does that qualify as an anti bacterial agent? its' old, has a metal tank.

I can't find a water separator....
Disconnected the battery and put it on a trickle maintenance charger.

It will be in the pole shed, out of the wind and elements.
