Wiring diagram

Trying to think how that instrument panel is set up...

Aren't the tach, oil, and temp mechanical?

That only leaves the fuel, amp meter, and hour meter and???

Unless the wiring has been completely removed, even if it has been chewed or burned, there is usually enough evidence to see where each wire went.

I don't think this is as difficult as you think it will be. Like eating an elephant, it's one bite at a time!

Look at it as one gauge at a time...

The fuel gauge will have an ignition feed wire, and a wire to the sending unit.

The amp meter is a feed through. The 10 ga wire from the battery goes on one terminal, everything else, the power from the alternator, and power to the ign switch, and everything else goes on the other terminal. If it reads backward, reverse the posts.

If there is an hour meter or volt meter, it wires from the ignition side of the ignition switch.

One mistake most people make is not taking the time to remove and invert the dash for easy access. Even if it is quite involved, it pays off in the end to get it where you can see what you are doing. If this turns into a complete rewire, it is an excellent opportunity to lengthen the wiring so the dash can be pulled out or turned over for easy service. You can get the spiral plastic wire loom wrap at the auto supply to tie everything together, makes for a finished, neat, and professional look. I prefer to solder and shrink wrap all connections. That is optional, and time consuming, but worth it for durability.

There are lots of generic wiring diagrams online that show each component and how it wires. Between that and tracing the remains of what is there, and asking questions, you can do this! Youtube has several videos. Even if you don't find your specific tractor, the same theory pretty much applies to all.

Be aware that some gauges of many vehicles of that vintage had voltage regulators in the circuit. Look for a small unusual component in the + wiring.

Thank you so much. Can you suggest where on online to get a wiring diagram? I got an online service manual and it didn't have a wiring diagram. Waste of money. Pictures were terrible.

I looked around, didn't see any free ones.

There were some to pay for a down load. Never tried one, so can't say they are legit or not. Kinda afraid what I might or might not get!

I don't know about the 1105 but some models they put the wiring diagrams in the Operator's Manual, not the Service Manual. I have a 135 Service Manual with no diagrams but they are in the 135 Operator's Manual.

There is a phone number On the AGCO publications website, you could call and ask them if the 1105 has them in the Operator's Manual. They sell hard copies and downloads. The problem is getting to be may of the manuals now are copies of copies and quality often declines, especially some of the aftermarket independent manual reproducers.
