In Illinois you can get standard plates to go anywhere or farm plates which are only good for a 150 mile radius which are cheaper

FWIW, in the 16 or so years I've been doing the WHO tractor ride, I've never heard of anyone being hassled(stopped) by the Iowa Highway Patrol. Hauling to or from. Maybe next year!!!!
