Wood Beam Plow

Yeah, the ribbeted on name plate doesn't seem to go with an antique wood beam plow and the malboard looks small also.
 
What they called a pony plow or peanut plow. I've got a few. None of mine are Deere though. I've got a Vulcan, an Oliver and one with no markings.
 
I have one from J I Case. It is so nice it needs to be in a museum. It has most of the original stenciling on the beam and all of the original stenciling on the back side of the lay.
 
For a pony and not a full size horse so plow about size used on a walking
garden tractor and a lot were only a 6 inch plow. Mostly for gardens and
better than a shovel to get ground ready for planting. And you did not need
deep tillage for that.
 
They used them to plow up peanuts, but too, I always figured they used them in communities around the mines where all they had to pull them were the mine ponies and burrows.
