Woods mower belt length

Sorry if his is posted in the wrong area, but can anyone tell me the length of the belt for a Woods finish mower? It is an RM 59. Serial 003592 and is a 5 ft cut.

Thanks,

Dgreen

Don't remember the size but you can download the RM59 manual for free from Woods. It includes a parts list. You can have most auto stores cross the number and get you one. I got mine from my local NAPA.

Woods # 23894 V-belt (special) W150 (I think that for wide 150 inch)

It will depend on what kind of tractor it s on. I
had a B-AC with an L59 mower & that belt was 18 1/2
ft long. It cost about $80 at Woods dealer but @
Agri Supply I bought the Pix brand they sell for
about $25 & couldn t tell much difference in
durability.

I have Woods RM59-1 ( about 35 years old) on a 9N Ford and mine uses a B180 belt. A B178 would probably fit.

Not enough information. The RM59-1 and RM59-2 take a 5/8 X183 belt, the RM59-3 takes a 5/8 X 150 belt. Google Woods rm 59-3 belt and you will find plenty of people willing to sell you either. Prices vary wildly, I assume quality may as well.

I found out it is a RM59-1 because it has the long mechanical
bolt tensioner.

My next question is will a 184 1/4 inch belt work? I can order
one from a wholesale parts place. That's as close as they can
get to 183.

Just any belt that is the correct length might be good for about 2 trips around the yard before it becomes stretched out and useless. I know this from experience. You'll be much happier if you get the correct belt from a Woods dealer.

Somewhere on that belt there IS a part number. It is probably stamped in, rather than printed, so it can be very difficult to find and read, but it IS there.
