Working some ground!

Hi Everyone,

Was finally able to drop plow last weekend - our plot was a little wet, but the DC still plowed through. My buddy is on the SC - still looking for a two bottom for that one!

Nice photos ! Back in the 70's I used to go 'back home' and help my dad plow in the
spring. He used a Farmall 656, I on the '51 Case DC. The front heavy Farmall would get stuck
in our wet Michigan heavy soil. Then I would drive right around him, back up and pull him
out ! That old Case would stay up and keep on going ! I loved pulling that 'big' Red
thing out of the mud. ps. I have the DC to this day.

Thanks for posting.
Nice looking tractors.
I bet the DC sounds good pulling the plow.
I would like to have an SC-4 someday. Nick

It's amazing how work can be so much fun. I used to hate plowing in the summer after wheat harvest. We would plow for two weeks. Now, I can't wait to hook on to a plow. Of course, we only plow for fun now, we no-tilled most of our crops.

Looks good. Bob

Agreed - plowing is better when it is just for fun. Used to plow about 60 acres every year with the 930 and a five bottom - that got replaced with a 1086 and 12 shank chisel plow. After plowing all afternoon - it was no longer fun!

This plot only took about an hour to plow. Hoping to plant some filed corn. Seed prices have really went up from when I was on the farm!

Great pictures Matt, I sure enjoy seeing them working. I have several "DC"s, but only one running, need to work on that!
