I discovered something interesting today. I was using my computer and instead of opening the shop manual I typed in Perkins 4.300 specifications and found this link.

I have no idea what a NB 4.300 engine is and that is beside the point, but I assume the person who asked paid money for this technician to answer, and his bore and stroke answer is just bogus. So, if anyone is tempted to ask questions at that place and wants a serious answer they might not get one. A 3.857 inch bore and 5 inch stroke and 4 cylinders does not give 300 cubic inches, and it does not give 4,9 liter either.
So, this was just to say that be careful paying money to these guys, who knows what answer they give. It might be right, but it might be wrong too. In other words, after the answer you might be smarter, but you might also be dumber than you were before you got the answer.
