1- I had a stablelizer bar break on the 3 point lift, letting the bushhog put the power takeoff in a bind. oil leaked out the bottom of the hydrolic shaft. this quit leaking when I got the bushhog off. I checked the dipstick by the trans/ oil fill & it showed full? Does this have to be checked with the engine running & warm?

2- What could be draining the new battery I just installed?

1- The 1500 holds 2.5 gallons of oil. It would have to leak out quite a lot to show up as low on the dipstick. It does not matter if it is warm or cold when you check it.

2- There are not many things that could cause the drain on a 1500 (no computer, radio, etc0. I usually unhook the + terminal on the battery & lightly touch it back to the battery & see if you get a small spark. If you do then you can go around & unhook things & look for that same tiny spark. The 1500 is very simple so it should be easy to find.
