Year-Serial Number for 706

The IH plate says "706" and below that, has the number 14909SY. I looked on Tractor Data, and if I am correct, it is a 1964 model. Is it correct to get the number off the plate, or one of the stamped numbers? If so, what is the "SY" stand for? Thanks a lot for your help!

1964 is correct.'S' means torque amplfier;'Y' means 12 gpm hydralic pump. All IH tractors have a letter suffix to indicate'optional equipment'.
