yellow paint under gray

Sanding hood on my 800 today and finding yellow under the gray.I don't think it's an industrial according to the serial# top #is 850 serial
115611 should be a 56 .I Believe that color scheme didn't come out until 1962

Could be a simple yellow primer. Primer did come in a lot of different colors back in the day

It still does, Deere primer is yellow

I would think that the most likely scenario is that it was a highway tractor, and the second or third or fourth owner decided that he wanted it gray.
