YM 2002D electrical problem

A few days ago I was jump starting my 2002D and all electrical functions went dead. There is voltage at the starter and at the ignition switch but no lights or dashboard lights .

The 2002 has a fusible link in the bigger wire going from the starter to the ignition switch (which then powers the fuse box). It will look like:

The fusible link is good and that wire has power all the way to the ignition switch, but nothing after the switch.

Sounds like a bad switch if nothing after it.

I agree. If you have power going in but not out then it about has to be the switch.

It is a brand new switch

Are you sure the switch is wired correctly? Was the switch replaced after the jump starting or before?

I replaced it after the jump starting and wired it exactly as the old one being careful to change only one wire at a time

How can the switch be good if the above is true?
