ym 2000 wont start, it has always been difficult to start if it sits a week or so but now wont start at all. after reading several post i think problem is either air in fuel line or compression problems, since i have not broke any fuel lines loose i was leaning towards compression so i spun engine over with my hand over exhaust pipe and it didn't blow any past hand, also when it was running it had a lot of blowby, to the point of oil dripping out of blowby tube. would like an opion on this before i tear down the engine and how difficult is this rebuild gonna be. fixin 2 order a service manual. also i think its a japanese made tractor numbers on engine are
2TR20A 830020

thanks,
George

Since you say nothing was coming out the exhaust you may want to check the muffler for obstruction before tearing into the engine.

You won't know what if anything it needs until you're inside. But a diesel needs only three things to start, so, as has been suggested, it's worth ensuring that it has them.

-Take the exhaust and air clearner off to try starting when you know there's no air problems in or out.

-Ensure the battery and starter are OK because a diesel has to spin fast to start, and use the decompression control to make it spin faster at first.

-Finally, fuel. Besides bleeding any air out you might check the injectors.

You should have a manual, which you can get at Hoye. It's not from the factory, as documentation in English was not supplied for grey-market models, but it will show what's involved in a rebuild. All yannies are Japanese. Good luck.

That's a new troubleshooting procedure to me. I'm not sure anyone knows how much exhaust air should be produced without combustion. You need to start with the basics, air intake and exhaust, fuel filter, bleed fuel lines, check valve clearances and operation, and finally, get a diesel compression gauge.

Where is the best place to buy engine rebuild kit?<e>

I don't think a kit is available for the 2000 but pretty sure Hoye could help you put together the needed parts.

Here are good instructions for the head gasket but I am not aware of an overhaul video.
