Thinking about removing the large, coarse rust with a wirebrush, maybe drill wire brushes but not sand an old combine down to the shiny metal, because the metal is already pretty thin. Seen so called rust converter/primer that (chemically?) convert rust in a useable primer like coat which one can then paint with a topcoat. Not looking for restauration quality, but rather to preserve the old pull behind combine which I plan on using in beans, maybe a little barley, wheat. Would leave it as is, but more than 80% is rust, thinning the metal. Will shed her when not in use.
