Z-134 Timing

About to finish putting my MF35 back together and have a timing question. Manual shows setting timing at 600 RPM's. I cannot get my tractor to run at such a low RPM. What do you guys set timing at? Tractor is gasoline engine.
Thanks
Bob

That's my question. I cannot get 600 RPM's therefore I need to ck it at higher RPM's. What degree should correspond to what RPM in a higher range?

Best static time it with test light or cigarette paper for starters. I am only familiar with Z120 and Z129 as used in TO 20 and 30. Sorry I don't have numbers for Z134 and WOT.

The Massey Ferguson Manual I have says 6 degrees Before TDC at 450 rpm and 30 degrees before TDC at 2000 rpm.

Static time it as mentioned then check at 2000 rpms to see if the advance in the distributor is working.

When the linkage, carb, governor, and timing are right you should be able to idle it at the lower rpms given in the manual.

What are you using for a tach and do you know it to be accurate?

great info. My tach is for autos with a six or eight cylinder. I just use the eight and figure it out.
