What is a Zane thang?How does it work?Where can I get one?

it is a device that connects your 3 point lift to the control lever for a feedback response. commonly called a positioner control. i put one on my te20 and my to20. i like mine for what it does. some people say it is too expensive and i respect their opinions. people on here can direct you to plans for making your own version.

Make one, piece of cake. I have put a turnbuckle in the feed back rod that allows fine tuning on the position (height) of the item on the TPL.

Commercially there are three available types of position controlers.

The Equalizer - Produced By Red Rock Manufacturing
The Fergie Position Controler- out of Aust.
The Zane Thang -by Zane Sherman.

John, I installed a Thang 8-9 years ago. It works as promised. It ain't complicated, but if free time and tools to make your own is a limited resource for you, the Thang is a 15-20 minute install with a crecent wrench.

Jeff...Thanks for posting the positioner plans. After snow plowing this winter I see I need one and making it will allow more tinker time on the old girl.

Thanks guys,I mainly operate my old rig with a box blade,spreading gravel in driveways etc.Its really hard to fine tune unlevel terrain with no level control.JPC

With the controler in place will I still be able to raise and lower the box blade or is it locked in place where it is set?

you will be able to raise & lower same as you do know. The only difference is the 3 point will hold whatever level you wish
