I really didn't ever plan on buying another Z and this isn't any set plan by any means, but anyway, a gentleman just right up the road from me who is a John Deere collector just pulled a Zau out of an estate and from my brief conversation with him yesterday, he'd be open to turning loose of the Z, so I'm just speculating value here.

The tractor has a lot of paint left, rust wasn't too bad, not missing any sheet metal or any parts at all, from what I can see, has hydraulics, wheels look nice, but the tires appear to be in tough shape and it has the square seat style from the 50s, not the pan style like on the ZTU and this seat on the tractor was pretty shot too. It does have Za style fenders in nice shape, but no headlights. I asked the owner and he said the engine is free and will turn over, but not cranking.

I was sort of thinking $500-$700? Maybe my number is low, which is why I'm asking here. MM doesn't come up much where I am and even though I love the Z variants, they seem to be about the most common MM on the market and the ZTUs and ZAUs seem to bring a bit less than ZBs, but maybe I'm wrong.

If it has good antifreeze in it and isn’t stuck I would give $5-700 for it, but I’m kind of Z nut anyway. The drawback would be the tires. The price of them plus whatever it takes to get it running could easily be more than you could sell it for. Unless you don’t have plans to sell it

I am also a Z nut. I'm finishing up a 1948 ZTU engine rebuild and am working towards a full restoration on it. This ZTU is sentimental since it was my first tractor, ever. I guess my motivation just isn't super high to drag in another Z since I could use that money to help finish this first one, which is still in process. If I got the tractor, I'd post a thread here. Thanks for your reply!

I did see a parts or major restoration Z 1949-50 sell recently for about $400 dollars But I will give you some advice my boy if you really want it don't let $50-100 stand in your way! 10 years from now the $50 won't mean much.
I completely agree! When I bought my ZTU, I cleared out a spot in my grandparent's barn and it is stored there, but I don't have anywhere else to store new projects sadly. That storage issue is the only thing sort of holding me back honestly. I am considering just renting a storage unit in town or buying some sort of prefab shed to put on the family land, that way if I get this Za, it can at least sit somewhere outside of the elements until I can get around to it.

Tarps and such renting storage is not the best use of money.

Probably will have to pay close to 700 dollars or maybe 750. 500 dollars is not much above scrap and I don't know how devoted the seller is to see someone save it.
