Zenith Carburetor

I am rebuilding a Zenith carb. Two of the brass jets are varnished and stuck in the carburetor. I tryed soaking for days and still can not get them out. Anybody got an idea on what to do.

Are they made to come out?You can clean by using high volume and high pressure after running some carburetor cleaner through and blowing out before it gets a chance to dry. CENTAUR

You can heat the cast around those plugs with a torch,let the cast cool, or put it on your charcoal grill. Let it heat up and then naturally cool down. the plugs should screw right out.

The jets have a slot in them for a screwdriver to fit, so I assume they are made to come out. The top half of the carburetor is cast iron and the bottom half is cast aluminum. Do you think heating the aluminum would create a problem? This carburetor is a Zenith 12293-B and goes on a Continental F140 engine that is on a Massey Ferguson Super 35 combine. Thanks for your help.
