ZTU Water Pump

Water pump on my ZTU is in need of many parts. I had a thought.. How hard is it to find a rebuilt (ready to go) replacement pump instead of buying parts and then labor?

I'm out of pocket now, but putting this out to get an idea of if buying a complete pump is feasible or if I should call Welter's with my parts list?

I have never seen rebuilt ones for sale anywhere. Ask Glen if he would rebuild one for you.

Call Welters. I bought a rebuilt pump from them and didnt have to worry about piecing one together.

You can also look for a used one. I too never seen many rebuilt ones for the older Molines. Next there are some outfits that rebuild vintage water pumps. Look online or check tractor magazines.

It's a late (1948) ZTU. So an R water pump fits? Thanks

I am thinking it does. The later ZB in the 50's I doubt would. THE 165 R engine and 185 z engine is similar.

Much appreciated. I'm from the deep south where MMs are basically nonexistent (which is why I wanted one). This forum has been an irreplaceable source of help.

The MM comunity is a good one. To find parts you have to do a little searching. There were pockets where they sold well other areas very scarce. Same for Cockshut, Massey Harris etc.

Sorry I dont but I do remember by the time I press the impeller off, and all the other things I had to do, It was worth just buying the compete uump

I have had good luck with Aurher Guild this outfit had an add in hemmings news I called first with what I had had them do several last one was a british IH no issues solid to deal with. its been afew years.

You are right. Also The industrial engine, Yellow Uni has the same guts with a different rear housing.
