The early rims were painted red as per the 1936 paint committee decision that after 1st November 1936 that the tractors were to be painted red. All early letter series Farmall advertising show red painted wheels on Farmalls A, B H and M. My July 1941 W-4 has no signs of galvanzing on the wheels, front or back, but only red paint. The silver was not paint but galvanizing and came into use somewhere about 1943
Just saw your post on the 997. Have you checked your screen(s) on the pickup line inside your fuel thank(s)?

No longer milking cows, but just can't quit farming. I kept the two red horses I grew up on, A 706 we got when I was in the 7th grade in 1966 and a 460 we got in 1962. Both tractors were parked inside the shed when we came to lunch. They both have original paint except for new rims. Currently rebuilding the shift on my 7, and transplanting a 358 from our 1420 that was like new.

BMG1, I am looking for the build and shipping dates of 3 G1000 fwa molines that were shipped to Australia some time in 1968. The serial numbers are - 32701539, 32701554 and 32701555. The engine numbers for the last two are 29703617 and 29703618. Would appreciate your assistance. It's hard to fit this in 420 letters.
Many thanks and Regards
Paul

Paul, They were all built 3/21/68. #39 was on order 80-15 and shipped 3/26/68. #54&55 were on order 80-23 and were shipped 3/27/68. Looks like the "80" order codes were export units. Not sure if they all went to Australia or other parts too. Are these yours? Do you still have 32701538?
