One thing I can't stress enough, everyone is set to use the Threaded View, this is similar in function to Classic View, if you want to use the Chronological View (like Modern View was and all other forums), click on your username and select preferences.

Be sure to read the document on all that at https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/cutover it shows some preferences you might want to change.

Edit: If you find that the time is wrong for you, check your Time Zone in preferences. Click on your username and select preferences.

Im sorry, I really dont mean to be rude, and I think its great YT has moved forward, but this looks like something kids play with. These circles with the intial is just overwhelming. Can anything be changed on our end to change the way it appears?

Yes, in the document I mentioned above, it has the method of turning that off (username->preferences->hide Avatars). We thought people would hate that, or at least get bored with seeing it so we created an option to hide it.

Looks good from here. Layout is simple and clean. Everything is pretty much where it was, or easily found.

It won't please everyone but anyone willing to take a few minutes should be able to get used to it.

Forgot to mention, it speeds up the connection, if you use a slow one like I do, to get rid of those circles. Those graphics people will put in their Avatar will slow you down.

Yes, we are doing something like that soon. We'll discuss it in about a half hour since it was on the list but didn't get done. We are going to have a welcome message at registration so possibly we can also put a help message on failed login. It's a good idea.

I couldn't get rid of the little versions shown on the forum and thread display, only when reading the thread. I'll put that on the list though as that would really streamline viewing the forums. When I was doing that, I was targeting just the thread because the big versions were pretty irritating, and if someone doesn't have an avatar, the Letter displayed in a circle is pretty meaningless. I think the current generation is afraid that any time you have just text, it won't "sell", so unimportant pictures and graphics are stuffed in to make their software desirable. Most YTers obviously don't agree. I tried to hide other stuff but some things were not possible, smilies for example.

Works good! The only thing I noticed is the two vids I posted in the test area, when in the old Classic forum, did not turn up in the new one. No biggie on my end.

That would be my fault. Until you mentioned it, I didn't even think about it. The import program had to know how to rewrite the statements for the old bbcode (bbcode has changed a lot internally since 2007 ;-)). You might be able to edit the old post and redo the embeds. If the problem is common, in other words there are hundreds or thousands of those out there, I'll have to figure out if I can write a program to redo those posts. It won't be fast though. I might have to contact you on the format you used or maybe, if I know the post number, I can go compare other non-functional ones with how you put it in on the edit. It's still a big job so it will take a couple of weeks.
