Scam Alert on this forum!

I have been ripped off for $250 trying to buy a ROPS for my tractor. Not blaming this forum, it's all on me. Just want others to be aware.

I posted an ad looking for a roll bar for my Ford 3000. Someone with the handle "Olivierpaul" responded saying that he knew someone who had one, and to email him at [email protected]. Long story short, after many emails, I agreed to send him half the money and the rest when the roll bar arrived. I was skeptical for a variety of reasons, but decided to take a chance anyway. Bad choice. It's been 6 days and not a peep. Per his request, I sent the money via his "wife's" Zelle account @ phone number 321-750-3560 (email: [email protected]). For all I know, all three names could be the same person...

Sorry to hear that. Being a seller I hate to hear about someone getting Ripped off
I looked in the Membership and could not see anyone using Olivierpaul for a Handle. The Phone number comes up from Cocoa Fl.
When Ever Buying some thing over the Internet Ask Questions, Get a Lot of Pictures that someone can't photoshop from some where else on the Internet
You should also post your problem in the Buyer/Seller Forum So that someone else won't make the same mistake

Doesn’t necessarily mean anything, but if you search that phone number it comes back to a Cheryl Knable, which would match the email address. Looks like they own a senior care place in Fl. Of course a scammer could have given you someone elses info. But it may be worth a call to see.

I had the some thing happen to me several years ago when I advertised for a PTO driven hydraulic pump in classifieds. Here again not fault of forum. There were signs I should have paid attention to and didn't. Guess I didn't think scamers would read these forums. Checking later I found the address listed was vacant lot. Live and learn I guess.

Sorry to hear that. Does anyone know if those adds can be viewed with not being logged in? Not saying this is the case here, but on the New AgTalk forum what has happened there is there have been users names hacked and then the scammer uses the forum members user name to post scam adds in the classified there.

Very sorry to hear this but scamming is really on the uptick everywhere and there seems to be little admins can due to keep up or prevent it. Scammers Cyber money transferr of choice is Zelle for reasons I don't know so any time that is requested I back out. A good way to prevent such things is to request a picture of them with the item and holding a paper with their address written on it. Google the address, run it on a maps app.

Anyone notice the recurring photo ads - for a nearly new loaded JD or Kubota UTV for $1800 ?

I could not find a handle "Oliverpaul" or "Olivierpaul" either. Don't you need a forum handle to post classified ads now?

I don't think you can delete your account yourself.

Dont fall for it, again. If someone has one they will contact you directly in most cases. You might be able to contact Zelle and get your money back.
Thanks. Had no intention of responding. Either this person thinks they're funny, or stupidly bold thinking this would work twice.
