Hay getting jammed in discbine

Anyone know why hay would be getting jammed in this little gap on our NH 411? If it doesn't look like a lot, it's because I already ripped out most of the hay from it.

Low fertility and low pH. you are cutting wire grass. you are supposed to be cutting stems with long broad leaves up above them. It is just the nature of those wire leaves that they get sucked into the tight space that is too small for a healthy stem. Cut the field with a brush hog, then apply two tons lime to the acre, and hit it heavy in the spring with the fertilizer mix recommended by you local cooperative extension from the soil samples that you take this fall.
