I think that your best price is going to be keeping it a unit, that mid mount mower is probably only usable on that model tractor. Around here I think that you would be looking at $15 to 20K. Any dealer is going to buy at wholesale because they need to have some meat on the bone. They are not going to give the best price.

Thanks. Yes, I called several Bomford Turner dealers all over the country. Not a single one had ever heard of the gorilla. Most didn't even know they made a mid mount. I definitely will be keeping the unit together as I'm sure you are correct that it would most likely only fit that model. Not to mention the headache of separating it. With the model number, Bomford UK was extremely helpful and provided all of the manuals (operator's, service and parts).

Thanks Ben, I apologize. I am a "newbie" to the tractor world. I have attached a few more photos. If you don't mind. I do believe it has high/low, and does have dual outlets, not sure on pto and how to tell nor rack and pinion. Can you tell from photos? Not sure what to look for.

Looks like it has the flange wheels, thus no rack and pinion. Also, a single pair of outlets and no hi lo. Probably has only a 540 pto. It looks like the base model with the smaller 30 inch rears, but still a very good tractor, worth my estimate here in Canada.

Thanks for the info and your time! All will be a big help when questions are asked. Hopefully I can get it sold fairly quickly. Will try marketplace first then a tractor site if no bites.

it does not have hi lo or reverser from the picture should be in the round hole to the left of the dash and no loader. Still 15k at least the weird mower means a local municipality with brains would snag it. If it had the reverser and a loader it would be worth 20 easy I bought a 2555 10 years ago for 9 with 6800 hours.

There's a 1990 right now with a similar mower set up in Iowa with 3400hrs listed for $18,900, I know that's not a sold price but still may give you some guidance. All things considered with the hours on your and getting it in front of someone with the need of the mower setup I would think you could get a considerable amount more than what they are asking for theirs. jmho

I really do appreciate all of the feedback. I signed up for the forum because I spoke with my local JD salesman (granted he didn't have pictures) and said I wouldn't get much (not sure what his idea of much was) for it. He said "well it's over 30 yrs old, so won't get much".

You will never get anywhere near what it is worth from a dealer. But after they get it is gold.

If you just bought it recently, ask at least what you paid for it; if you want to sell for a profit ask more. At least that's what I'd do. Looks like the kind deal I like to come across: low use/miles/hours-in good shape. Good luck, Mark

I agree with others that stated your tractor doesn't have option of hyd hi-0-lo or hyd reverser. But it still should sell very well due to low hrs of use.

The mower is a negative. It makes the tractor useless for anything but the specific type of mowing that the mower is for. It is not easily removed. Most that would be interested in the tractor don't want the mower.

As for value, start with what you paid for it. Do you think you got it cheap? Ask for more. You can always lower your price, but you can't morally and ethically raise it.

Look at online listings for that tractor. That will give you the high end of the price range, the dreamer prices.

Thanks, Kind of what I was thinking. Can't seem to find any that have sold, but maybe a good place to start. I think I have only seen 2 with the flail mower but in pretty rough and heavily used/much higher hour shape.

if you do pull it off might as well spend the couple hundred bucks on a fender. she might as well be tip top to ask tip top price.
